The boat
The Sea Dancer is a 26 foot Shamrock center console, built in 2000 and restored in 2022, running a single 343 horsepower Pleasurecraft Marine engine with a top cruising speed near 28 knots. The restoration keeps an older, sea kindly hull in good order, and a Shamrock rides well for its size, but the honest limit is what a 26 foot single engine boat can do. It fishes the near coastal and mid range ground well and reaches deeper on a settled day, but it is not the boat for the longest runs to the Gulf Stream in a building sea, which is where the larger boats in the port have the edge.
