What holds it back are two honest things. The public review count is thin, 16 on FishingBooker against the hundred plus on the boats around it, because much of its booking runs through its own site rather than the marketplaces, so the verifiable crowd is small. The boat
The boat is a Freeman 37vh, a fast offshore catamaran running quad Yamaha 300 outboards. A catamaran hull this size rides flat and stable, which matters both on a long run out and when you are sitting on a swordfish drift or trolling a tuna spread, and the quad outboards give it the speed and the range to reach the deep water and run home in a day. It is federally permitted for reef fish and for pelagics, the paperwork that lets it keep both bottom fish and offshore species in season. For the deep trips this is the best tool in the port. The catch is comfort on the very long runs: it is still an open boat, so an 18 hour or overnight trip is a hard, exposed day compared with a cabin sportfisher.
The fishing and what you target
MSC fishes two ends of the spectrum. The daytime trips work the Alabama reef zone for red snapper, grouper, and the rest of the bottom species, the same fishery the whole port shares. The long trips are where it stands apart: bluewater runs for blackfin and yellowfin tuna and dedicated swordfish trips out in the deep, the kind of fishing most Gulf Shores boats do not offer. MSC runs daytime and overnight offshore charters of roughly 8 to 18 hours, for reef fish on the shorter trips and tuna or swordfish on the long ones, with rods, reels, and bait provided. The pricing is the honest weak point. Rather than post a fixed price ladder, the operator quotes each trip through its online booking system, so you have to start a booking to see the cost, and the long bluewater runs are among the most expensive trips in the port.
