The boats
The fleet is two 38 foot sportfishers. The Fin Chaser is a Topaz Express with an enclosed head, a dinette, and a large cockpit with a fighting chair under a hard top, set up for a comfortable offshore day. The No Fear is a Henriques custom sportfish run the same way. Both are well equipped, well kept boats that reviewers describe as clean and comfortable, and both carry up to 6 anglers, the Coast Guard limit on a six pack boat. The fishing and what you target
The boats work the reef, the wrecks, and the Gulf Stream off the north end of the island. In the cooler months, roughly November through March, the boats live bait for sailfish a few miles off the reef and pick up dolphin, tuna, wahoo, and cobia, and from spring into fall the troll switches to mahi mahi offshore, with marlin a long shot on the full days. On the reef and the wrecks the boats drop for grouper, snapper, yellowtail, amberjack, and kingfish. The operator is upfront that a deep sea trip wants at least a three quarter day to reach the better water, which is honest about what a half day can and cannot do here.

The boats sell by the whole boat for up to 6 anglers, private only. On the Fin Chaser the rates are $1,050 for a 4 hour half day on the reef and wrecks, $1,350 for a three quarter day, and $1,600 for a full day, with the No Fear $100 more at each length.
